Stop book bans in Victoria, Texas: They don’t speak for us
Forty seven children’s books about and by minorities were removed from the Victoria Public Library due to the loud voices of only a handful residents. We have the power to return those books back to circulation, and let the library know that we will not let a small number of people speak for us all.
This is the link to the Victoria Advocate article about the books that were removed.

**UPDATE**
Tomorrow night is the city council meeting. If you are a Victoria local please consider attending. If not, you can also email the council members. Here are three email addresses to do so.

Why is this important?
Removing and banning books of any topic is censorship; plain and simple. We cannot allow books to be removed because it creates a slippery slope. This is a PUBLIC library paid for by taxpayers, and those taxpayers and their children have the right to read whatever books they see fit for themselves and their kids.
